Waterborne Hardeners/Latent Hardener
Principal properties
Waterborne hardeners:
- Zero-VOC achievable
- Low viscosity and color
- Low odour and non-flammable
- Easy to clean-up and apply
- Good adhesion, especially to
damp or ‘green’concrete
Latent hardener:
- Easy to mix with epoxy resins and provides long storage period
- Fast cure at low temperature in a short time
- Good resistance to chemicals and elevated temperature
- Excellent electrical insulation and good mechanical properties
- Low skin irritation
Principal applications
Waterborne hardeners:
- Concrete coatings e.g., food processing plants, show rooms, laboratories, hospitals, nuclear power stations,
breweries etc
- Self-leveling, mortar flooring, and tile grouts
- Steel coatings with liquid resin and semi-olid/solidresin
emulsions e.g., anti-corrosive primers and topcoats
Latent hardener:
- Electric insulating materials
- Various molded products
- Adhesives
- Powder coatings
- Accelerator for other one-pack epoxy systems
